Carrying over 15 kg check-in baggage on domestic flights will now cost more. IndiGo, SpiceJet, GoAir have hiked excess baggage charges for domestic flyers.

Low cost carriers (LCC) IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir are now charging Rs 400 per kg for each kilo beyond the allowed 15 kg from domestic passengers at airports who have not pre-booked excess baggage.
? Why should I care?
There’s no other option for the airlines, unless they want to meet the fate of Kingfisher. For you though, you got to be more careful while booking your domestic flights, since it might end up costing you more than you expect. A simple hack? Pre-book everything, and don’t forget to check the weight when you leave for the airport!
