? Cool Title, but what’s the news?
In a first of its kind move, Amazon has rolled out Hindi language support for its Android app and mobile site users.
? Okay, but what does it mean?
This new language support signifies the importance of the Indian market and its large pool of customers to the e-commerce. With the addition of Hindi language support, Amazon looks to capture a wider audience in the country. Amazon notes that customers can now read detailed product information, find deals and discounts, place the orders, pay for their orders, manage their account information, track their orders, and view order history in Hindi.? Why should I care?
Amazon India’s Android app and mobile website now have a new language option in the left Menu bar. The app does not require to be updated. The iOS app and the Amazon.in site for the PC will get the new experience at a later stage. Amazon said that it will introduce other Indic languages in the future as well, adding that it started with Hindi as it found that roughly 50 percent of its customers who prefer shopping in a language other than English want to get the experience in Hindi.
