Today, bitcoin, the virtual currency that has taken the world by storm, has just crossed past a third barrier in less than 24 hours in pure valuation and shot above the $14,000 mark. Bitcoin has surged over 1000% this year!

? Okay, so what does it mean? 

The virtual currency started the year valuing a little below $1,000. When it hit a major milestone in valuation ($10,000) last week, several economists who had earlier warned heavily against this unregulated and decentralised virtual currency. Still, the rise has been an steep upward trajectory.

Bitcoin is expected to cross a valuation of $40,000 in 2018.
